*Warrior Big Red is a big heavy handsome 1998 sorrel
stud that is strong, gentle, and willing. He loves people. He is one of the
kindest horses I have ever known. He definitely has the personable "curly
horse" temperament and intelligence. He is 15.1 hh (measured by stick). He
was gelded summer 2004. We bred him to two fine sleek necked, correct FQH
mares,
Sonita,
and Hancock's
Sparrow, and *Buffalo Gal, before gelding
him. He is like a big red angus bull... he pushes his way through anything
- once he pushed a round corral into a chute through the night... once he
walked through bunches of loose coiling barb wire out in the pasture while
I was fencing, just to visit me... Since he was fearless I decided not to
panic either and I got him to follow me out of it to pet him... *whew.* To
know him, is to love him. He has developed into a real powerful impressive
stockhorse style Curly Horse. He learns instantly, has a lot of savvy, and
should make an excellent working cowhorse, western performance or trail riding
horse. He has been ridden by my youngest daughter, Valene, who wants to use
him for a ranch roping horse, and take him to brandings and western saddle
club events, so his saddle training continues. We just began saddling this
horse at 5-1/2 years old: True to promise, he is incredibly light, supple,
and naturally offers to round up and collect. Is now being worked under saddle
in the yards (Billings Livestock Auction).
